Rahat Qureshi later referred to as Rahat Indori, was born on one Jan 1950 in Indore to Rafatullah Qureshi, a fabric mill employee, and his partner Maqbool international organization Nisa lady. He was their fourth kid. He did his schooling from Nutan college Indore from wherever he completed his Higher Secondary.

 He completed his graduation from Islamia Karimia school (ikdc) Indore in 1973 and has passed his MA in Urdu literature from Barkatullah University Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) in 1975. Equally competent in prose and poetry, Rahat was awarded a pH.D. in Urdu literature from the Bhoj University of Madhya Pradesh in 1985 for his thesis titled Urdu Main Mushaira.

Dr. Rahat Indori is unendingly activity in Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan from last forty - forty-five Years. He has traveled wide internationally to recite poetry. He has attended poetic symposiums in most the Districts of India and has conjointly traveled many times to USA, UK, Canada, Singapore, Mauritius, KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal etc.
